BMW/MINI Grand River - Construction Blog #8
The Latest...
We are half way through what has been a beautiful November here at BMW Grand River, and things are really taking shape.
The warm weather has allowed us to get most of our landscaping in before the winter, giving the sod a chance to really take hold and the trees to gain firm roots. Small shrubs and plants will go in once the ground thaws in the spring.
Structural steel finished up a few weeks ago and the roof deck is on. Our roofers started yesterday with the insulated roof, and should the weather hold they should be finished up in the next 10 days or so (pray for no rain!).
Inside, the electricians and mechanical guys from Conestoga Electric and Mechanical are working away laying conduit and HVAC building up the skeleton of our new dealership. The drywallers are busy studding the large drywall on the exterior, and the glass suppliers are now on site getting ready to install the showroom glass.
In the next few weeks you will see the overhead doors, windows and mandoors go on as we get closer to being closed in before the snow flies. Once we are closed in, the temporary heat goes on and the sexy phase of construction is over. It will be a winter of interiors so we can get open for spring and the new F30!!!
That’s it for now, check back in a few weeks to see what she looks like with glass on and a proper roof!
